Thieves have run off with a $10,000 haul of limited edition Air Jordan trainers after a raid on a home in North Carolina.

Thirty pairs, Infrared 3s For Sale all in pristine condition and in their original boxes, were taken during the break in.

Owner Bryant Toala, who had amassed the shoes since school, told police that his collection had been taken from their hiding place at his Mapleridge Drive home in Charlotte.

The entire haul is estimated to be worth $22,000.

Toala said: 'I Infrared 23 3s For Sale was (upset). All that hard work to Infrared 23 3s get them, getting in all those Jordan 3 Infrared 23 lines.'

A spokesman for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed the theft but said that they had not identified a suspect.

They also stated that the burglars had entered the property by a window.
